Thoughts:
I stand by the idea that being more east than people you work with is an advantage (unless you have a lot of meetings). I could accomplish more my 2 PM of pure uninterrupted work than ever before possible.
Being away from home really makes me appreciate home. Being back in NYC today for the first time in 40 days made me realize how much community I have here now. Friends to catch up & grab dinner with and events to go to. I don’t think I had that 1-2 years out of college which is why traveling all of the time was so easy for me. Leaving for longer periods of time for me now is harder.
It was the most time I’ve spent with Sarah. I really loved it, especially just small moments like finding a gym together, skateboarding to the beach, trying new restaurants, etc. – I think one thing I’d change in the future would be finding more points of seperation during the day (ie. working out of different coffee shops occasionally) so that you can share more about your day at the end.
The fact that spain would be light from 6 AM to 10 PM during the summer was amazing
It reinforces my desire to learn another language. The saying goes “if life is a book, the people who don’t travel only read one chapter.” I’d reinforce that with the idea that if you only speak one language but travel, you can really only look at the pictures & 1/2 the words on other chapters.
